About
Screen Time Experts publishes guides to screen time apps, app blockers and devices, for people who want to spend less time on their phones and want to know what actually works before they pay for anything.
Who we are
We’re behavioural science experts from Imperial College London. The site is published by Snitch Ltd, a UK company founded by Asha Bakhai (CEO), Yoshiki Connor Berrecloth (CTO) and Serena Sebastian (CMO and Creative Director). In 2026 Snitch won the top prize in Imperial’s WE Innovate programme.
We make Snitch, a screen time app where you share a pot of screen time with friends, and they find out if you go over. So we’re not a neutral party, and we’d rather you knew that up front.
Why behavioural science
Most screen time tools are built around settings: a timer, a block, a schedule. In our experience the settings are rarely the problem. The person who sets a limit at 2pm and the person who taps “Ignore” at midnight are the same person, so what helps is changing the situation: adding friction, planning breaks instead of banning things, and bringing other people in. That’s the lens we use when we write about any app, including ours.
How we write about products, including ours
- Whenever Snitch comes up in a guide, we say that it’s ours, and every guide says so under its title.
- In comparisons, we cover Snitch’s downsides the same way we cover everyone else’s, and we say where rival apps are better.
- We check prices and features against each product’s own website or app store listing. Each guide shows the date it was last updated.
The full version is in our editorial policy.
