Blocked the TikTok app, then caught yourself on tiktok.com? Here’s how to block websites in Safari for free.
Note (On iOS 27?)
iOS 27 moved Screen Time’s website controls to Apps & Websites, where you can add a site to a blocked list. The steps below use the iOS 26 names, which you’ll still see if any of your Apple devices isn’t on iOS 27 yet.
Step by step
- Open Settings, then Screen Time.
- Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions and turn it on.
- Tap App Store, Media, Web, & Games, then Web Content.
- Choose Limit Adult Websites.
- Under Never Allow, tap Add Website and type the address, e.g. tiktok.com.
- Repeat for each site.
Now Safari will refuse to load those sites.
Make it stick
Anyone who knows your Screen Time passcode can undo this. Set one (Lock Screen Time Settings) and give it to someone you trust, so you can’t switch it off at midnight.
Common questions
Does this block other browsers? Apple says its website controls work in Safari and supported browser apps. Some browsers, and the browsers built into other apps, may not be covered, so test the ones you use.
Can I block a site only at certain times? Not with this setting; it’s all or nothing. For a daily time limit instead, go to App Limits, then Add Limit, scroll to Websites and add the site there.
What about the app? Block it separately with an App Limit. See how to block TikTok on iPhone.
Want friends involved?
Snitch blocks the apps you pick, with your friends sharing a daily time pot. Go over, and the group gets a say. On Android it can also block sites like YouTube and Instagram in your browser.
